7 Basic Essential Web Marketing Tips
"It's Your Time
to Thrive On-line!"
Web
Marketing Tip # 4 - Plan for the Long Haul!
Most of the Internet Gurus that I have studied with or read about have
been chipping away at on-line success for a long time. Since it usually
takes a few years to establish yourself on-line plan for the long haul.
Be a business builder not an opportunity seeker - especially since it
takes a while to build Internet traffic. It is pretty well known that
there are two types of people trying to make money on-line. Business people
and on the other hand opportunity seekers.
Usually business people understand that businesses will take a while to
grow and develop. It takes sweat equity and financial resources to build
an online business. Business people are usually people who study the laws
and skills of business. They understand not only terms like profit, but
they understand basic marketing skills, ROI, customer service and more
than likely have studied sales techniques. In many respects they have
studied a good deal of their lives to be in business of some sought. They
usually go into business in something they love, or want to provide an
excellent product or service. Another reason they may go into business
is to service a market niche that is underserved.
In contrast, opportunity seekers are usually people who want to make extra
money or build an income very fast. They are drawn to the Internet because
they have heard it is the next gold rush. Or sometimes they are convinced
that they can become a millionaire or billionaire over night, with just
putting up a web site with a Pay Pal "Buy Now" button. They
are constantly joining the next hot thing in affiliate programs and too
often believe the hype about becoming an over night success.
You
have to ask yourself: if running a business on the Internet is so easy,
why isn't every body doing it making big bucks? From program to program
they join trying to make money fast - in the next big thing. However,
they fail to realize that the biggest hurdle to over come on the Internet
is building the trust of your site visitors. This forces them to quit
whatever they are involved in after a very short time to try another business
venture.
You will never really make a living on the Internet jumping from one income
opportunity to another in rapid succession. Building an Internet business
will take in the very least research, developing uniqueness and branding
of your business, content to develop a relationship with site visitors
over time, good technology, long hours, and good customer service. Internet
business is just as rigorous and serious as traditional business. You
have to be in it for the long haul to really see the fruits of your labor.
Don't waste your time with get rich schemes overnight on-line they very
rarely work.
