industry is in chaos. It's Google's Florida and subsequent updates,
that have many of us in the web marketing industry taken by storm.
Google's latest series of updates has totally dismantled certain
niche markets, delivering sparse results in relevancy, not to mention
a display of deference to research sites. |

At one point during the Florida Update using Google had
become like a throw back to a researchers tool, akin to the old days of
the scientist and professors exclusively using the Internet. While Google
is once again featuring ecommerce sites in prominent positions in its
search results, it is obvious that the search company wants an online

In an aggressive attempt to get SEO under control, perhaps
for its new IPO, Google is evolving into a less relevant search engine
losing market share to Yahoo! Furthermore, on the horizon is the Microsoft's
launch into the search business, which will integrate search some how
into the Find feature of your operating system (it is the system used
to find files in Windows). It other words, with the new Windows you will
be able to search files on your computer and also the Internet. This new
functionality of being able to search computer files and web files, from
the operating system of Windows, has to eat into the market share of Google's

"A Review of Basic Search Engine Marketing is still
Relevant"
I would love to claim that I enjoy great rankings in Google,
Yahoo!, and the new Microsoft search engine through some profound new
insight I discovered. But to be truthful, I discovered a good balance
of conventional basic SEO strategies have been the key to my persistent
high rankings. I try not to over fixate on either SEO copywriting on the
page, or getting thousands of links off the page. I try to put equal balance
